Public Sector Research was founded in 1989 under the name Ross Hutchison & Associates. Chris Bishop bought the company in 2000 and has continued its core research into the Information Technology market in the public sector in Canada.

Current PSR President Chris Bishop graduated from Bath University in England in 1969 with a Master's degree in Business Administration. He has spent his entire career in the Information Technology sector, holding senior appointments at Canada Systems Group, Andersen Consulting, Tandem Computers and Compaq Computer Corporation. Mr. Bishop now operates PSR, a market research company that provides information regarding Information Technology in the Federal and Ontario Governments to the IT vendor community. In addition he undertakes assignments for technology companies in the area of strategic planning, marketing, market research and partner development. He is a Past National President of the Canadian Information Processing Society. He writes and speaks regularly on Information Technology trends within the Public Sector in Canada.
